50

Yesterday both my parents celebrated their 50th birthday with a huge party with all their family, friends & collegues. My mom turned 50 in december, my fathers birthday is in february so this was a good occasion to throw a party. Because it was a dance-party I couldn't resist to make them a techno song :) It's a remix of a dutch happy birthday song, and everyone at the party knew the words and sang them when this tune was played :D

listen to rule - in de gloria

And I really have to start studying now, I have an exam tomorrow about Geometric Algorithms and it's difficult... And I have another exam wednesday on Motion and Manipulation where I still have to read alot for...

birthday

Yesterday I celebrated my birthday with my parents and one of my 2 sisters. I had already celebrated it with my friends and family..
I got all kinds of cool presents: a air mattress, 2 camping gaz kits, a book Tom Wolfe - I am Charlotte Simmons, 4 whiskey glasses and a very cool device that is also used in bars, to hang bottles upside down so you only have to push your glass under it and it's automatically filled with alcohol :D check:

thanks for all the gifts! I made them some good pasta with home-made bolognese sauce that had to cook for 3 hours but was very tastefull..

dinner with anne

I had dinner with

Anne

yesterday, in her new room. Very cool, in the center of Amsterdam, next to the Waterlooplein!  Anne paused her med-school to set up a music-career! She plays in 3 different bands and writes her own songs.  She made a demo for a singer/songwriter contest called Mooie Noten. Beautiful songs, recorded @ her parents house with their recording equipment:

anne - what

x-ray

06 January 05 11:36 by
I just made a photo of my x-rays that were made of my back last week :) It's really cool that I could take them home, normally here in Holland if you have an x-ray made they put it in your file somewhere, most of the time you don't even get to see it.

There was nothing wrong with my back, exept for the thing where the arrows are. Those two bones are supposed to be grown together, as the rest of my spine did, but with me they didn't. This was something that happened before I was born. It's not serious or something, and it seems to be that lots of people have this but never discover it (because they never have x-rays made of their backs). But it's funny to discover it on a photo of your own insides :)

See the xray that was made sideways here.

My back still hurts, but the painkillers help a little :)

Tsunami

I learned about the terrible disaster that happened in Asia only a few days ago. Becaue I was on wintersport, we had no newspaper, tv, radio or anything. On the piste I heard some french radiostation say that people where killed, but I had no idea it was so huge. Only when we returned home and could read all the papers from the past week, I was terrified by the event that happened.

To help those people who lost everything, family, friends, their house and their income, I decided to donate the total profit that my google-banners (that are in the header of each page of rulecam.net) make in january to the victims of the tsunami in Asia. So if you wanna help, click on a banner once or twice a day. It won't cost you a thing.

If you want to donate yourself, check (for example) unicef or (if your're dutch) giro555.

Thanks!

I had a great time in Switzerland with my family last week. We celebrated christmas and new year on the mountains in the snow, it was very nice. I also snowboarded a lot, 4-vallees is a really nice and huge ski-resort. We stayed in a little village called "moyens-des-riddes", close to verbier. We stayed in 2 different houses, because the house that we initially would stay in was flooded with water, we stayed in another luxe chalet till thursday and we had to move all our stuff to the initial house that was dried and cleaned by then. That house lie on the piste next to the lifts so that was very cool. It also had a very nice view on the rhône-valley.
Tuesday I really fell hard on my back, on a really easy blue piste ofcourse :) It really hurt so I went to the "centre medical" with my father, after some x-rays the docter concluded that luckily nothing was broken but I had bruised something in my spine. I rested for 1 and a half day and then went back on my board again :) Now I still feel it while bending or lifting things, so thats not good...
I also had another innate thing in my spinal bone, I will show you that if I can somehow scan my x-ray pictures :)
