back from france

Our first week of our holliday in the Pyrénées was very active, we made 3 large hikes, to the Cirque du Troumouse, to 2 pics with a view on the Cirque du Gavernie and to the Pic d'Ayré (2442m). Guido and Kajo even cycled up the Col du Tourmalet (respect!) and another col from the tour de france. We again hired a really cool (and fast) car wich Joost and me used to get up the Col du Tourmalet (we are lazy) and go for a little play of mini-golf ;). We stayed 30 km south from Lourdes in Luz St. Sauveur, at campsite Le Bergons.

The second week of our holliday we stayed at camping Les pins du soleil in St. Paul les Dax (next to Dax, 30km from the beach, 100km from spain), because al the campsites at the beach (in St Jean de Luz, wich was our original destination) were complet. We used a rainy day to go to St Sebastien, in Spain, but it rained in Spain as well.. (most of the time when it rains in france, it's sunny in Spain...) despite that, St Sebastien was nice to walk through, to taste some Spanish atmosphere.
While Guido and Kajo went back to Lourdes by train to get some postcards they forgot to buy, Joost and me went to the beach in Capbreton. Really nice weather and I even got sunburn, despite the 2 weeks of sun I already got at Crete.
We ended our 2 weeks of holliday with a huge barbecue, we all ate way too much ;) On our way home we stopped in Tours for a day, nice city with good restaurants.

It was a really cool holliday, good to be in the mountains again and climb up some serious pics ;)
